Birder’s Paced Walkabout with the Bird Diva
August 18 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am EDTFree
Location: Mud Creek & Important Bird Area, Alburgh
An easy out and back at a birder’s pace. This old railroad trail cuts through forested wetlands and cattail marshes that are a migratory stopover and breeding site for a variety of birds. Bird Diva, Bridget Butler, will help you fine tune your eyes and ears to the birds around us and demonstrate how to use eBird to document the birds for science. Please bring binoculars; Bridget will bring a limited supply of binoculars to share and a spotting scope for the group to use.
From Swanton: Drive west on Route 78 for 9.3 miles. Look for the first small parking lot on your right. If you reach Route 2 you’ve gone too far.
From the Islands: Take Route 2 north to Alburg. At the junction of Route 2 and 78, take a right onto Route 78 east. Drive 0.8 miles to the second small parking lot on your left. If you reach the Alburg bridge over Lake Champlain, you’ve gone too far.
